SAMP makes a decision about where to ship supplies based on the following general criteria:
- There must be a Rotary club in place who will take responsibility for receiving and distributing the shipment.
- The receiving Rotary club is also responsible for:
- working with its respective government to eliminate customs fees
- removing the goods from the shipper's warehouse. (if shipments are left in the warehouse there is a $50 charge per day after 7 days, which Appleton Rotary cannot pay.)
- If another Rotary club is willing to pay for shipping and handle the other arrangments noted, we will likely send to them
- If we are having trouble with local storage, we will look for a relief organization that will ship for free.
