Committee Roster

Annually our club sponsors one outbound and one inbound high school student for a year's stay abroad. Students from Appleton's public and private high schools as well as children of Rotary members are recruited as candidates. While a student may indicate a country he or she might like to visit, Rotary International makes the determination of destination. The student must not have reached his or her 18th birthday before leaving for the country. The student pays airfare and expense money for the stay. Rotarian families host the student for a period of three months during the in-country stay. The host Rotary club sponsors the youth and also provides a monthly stipend as spending money. This program is an excellent example of world service and fellowship. Rotarians are encouraged to become host families and also encourage all high school age youths to apply for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
