3. Jeff reported on the status of the Jamaica shipment. Final shipping arrangements are being worked out with Missionary Expediters, Inc. and the Jamaican Rotarian contact, Ron Hamilton. We are hopeful that the shipment can be initiated in early November, 2001. Remaining issues to be cleared relate to Customs matters in Jamaica.

4. Jeff reported on a recent meeting with Eric Paulsen, District WCS Chair, and Jim Schultz, Rhinelander club president, relating to the "To Russia With Love" District project. To get this project started, Eric and Jim would like to send a shipment of medical supplies and goods to Ulan-Ude, Russia with that city's Rotarian Club accepting responsibility for receiving, storing and distributing the materials. Following discussion, the Committee unanimously approved making available packed gaylords of medical supplies and goods from SAMP for this initial shipment. Additionally, SAMP will provide funding for 1/2 of the shipping cost for this initial shipment, but an amount not to exceed $4500, contingent upon District 6220 providing the balance of funding needed.

5. Chuck Lewis presented a report from the Marketing Task Force. The Task Force has put together an outline for developing a comprehensive marketing plan for SAMP. Prior to preceding with further work, the Committee agreed that more intensive discussion is needed to address issues relating to the future directions and scope, funding and District and club support. A future meeting will be dedicated soley to this discussion.

6. Barb Kelly was recognized for her efforts to get a link on the District website established for SAMP. Jeff Knezel was directed to contact our Zimbabwe Rotarian contact for an update on the political climate and to obtain assurances regarding the safety of future shipments to that country.
