Welcome to the Autism Society of the Fox Valley Website. We are a local chapter of the Autism Society of America serving individuals, families and professionals in the Fox Valley area. We are also a chapter of the Autism Society of Wisconsin.

Our Mission
The Autism Society of the Fox Valley, Inc. was established in 1989. We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization serving the counties of Calumet, Fond du Lac, Outagamie, Waupaca and Winnebago. Our mission is to provide information and referral, advocacy, public awareness, education and support for individuals, families, professionals and others who support people with autism.
Families Who are New to Autism
Finding out about how and what kind of help to get for your child are just a few of the many questions you may have. Our local chapter does not have all the answers but we do have suggestions, knowledge and experiences that we are willing to share with you in order for you and your family to get going and to keep going. We have support group meetings, and activities for parents and for the kids with autism. Be sure to join our newsletter and event subscription (above). We're there to answer your questions and help you try to find the answers. A good place to start is to come to Monkey Joe's, an indoor air gym, 1800 Casaloma Dr on the first Saturday of the month from 9:00-10:00am (exclusive to our group). WANTED...Teens
Who Want to Socialize!
Purpose: To foster positive peer interaction through group activities and conversation. The activities will be adult directed and supervised by a licensed Speech Pathologist and Autism Consultant. Parents are encouraged to be available but not required to remain with their teen.

Conference
Scholarships Available!
ASFV has three scholarships available to attend the ASW Conference, May 7-9 at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Wisconsin Dells. For more information about the conference, visit www.asw4autism.org
| Eligibility: Parents and caregivers, In home therapists, educators and support staff and adult services providers. Priority will be given to families who are new to autism |
| You must provide services or live within the counties of Outagamie, Calumet, Winnebago, Waupaca and Fond du Lac. |
| To apply, briefly describe why you want to attend the conference and how it will help your family or how it will contribute in new teaching strategies to individuals you support. |

Safety
Scholarships Available!
ASFV provides four safety scholarships for families and caregivers to assist them in making their homes and community more safe for their loved ones with autism. Some suggestions include: door and window alarms, adaptive car seats, etc. Our goal is to help families keep kids safe. Maximum $250 per scholarship.

Parent/Caregiver Support Group Meetings
Are you interested in talking with other parents who have children on the spectrum? Once a month, parents have the opportunity to get together in a relaxed, informal atmosphere to talk about everything from their personal experiences to available resources and general education about autism. Past meeting topics have included gluten-free/casein-free diets, physician referrals and ABA providers. Meetings are held once a month on the second Sunday of the month at the Ground Round Restaurant in Neenah from 6-7:30 p.m. If you are interested, please contact Kathy Lett at kathy_Lett@hotmail.com or phone her at (920) 582-4724 and she will add you to the mailing list.
