Understanding and Managing Behavior Issues in Autism

Erin Lausten has been an Autism Program Support provider for CESA 6 for the past 8 years. Erin has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Social Work and a Master's degree in Cross Categorical Special Education. Prior to working at CESA 6, Erin was a special education teacher in the Milwaukee Public School District and worked as a senior therapist and line therapist providing in home therapy for student with autism spectrum disorders.
Erin will talk about:
- The definition and causes of "behavior"
- What is a Functional Behavior Assessment and when is it necessary
- Creating a Behavior Intervention Plan
- How and when Non-Violent Crisis Intervention is warranted
- Ideas for intervention
