JUNE
June 15 (Sunday at 2:00): Annual Free Concert in the Town Park
features The Heartland Grass Stains. These six exuberant
musicians from the Chicago area are known for their crystal-clear
folkgrass sound, with music ranging widely from old
mountain to new country, folk to bluegrass, and Celtic to
original. Their music is a blend of clear vocals, 3-part
harmonies, and instruments ranging from guitar, banjo, fiddle,
mandolin, and bass to pennywhistle and limberjack dog. This
concert is Free, Free, Free the perfect time to round up
family and friends, pack up the lawn chairs, and relax with some
fantastic music. There is a potluck picnic at 1:00 all are
welcome.

JULY 12: 21st Annual Folk Music Festival at the Town Park.
Another amazing lineup: Highwater, Michael Smith, Mark Dvorak,
Tom Pease, KG & the Ranger, and Michael Ammons & the
Waterstreet Hotshots. Bill Kehl will return as MC. More

JULY 23: Council meeting at Joannes.

AUGUST
AUGUST 10 (Sunday at 2:00): Town Park concert with The Krause
Family Band. Rick Krause is joined by daughters Katie and Ruthie
in an upbeat blend of bluegrass, gospel, and traditional music.
Rick is on guitar, mandolin, & harmonica, Katie plays
keyboard, Ruthie plays fiddle, and all 3 blend vocals. These
favorites return to play for Black Hawk for the 3rd time. Plan on
a great afternoon of music. Potluck at 1:00.
AUGUST 27: Council meeting at Judys.

SEPTEMBER 13: Town Hall concert with Pattie Ecker & Louise
Brodie. The Chicago-based guitar/vocal/fiddle duo delivers
acoustic folk, swing, Celtic and original songs with a lot of
panache and high energy. Patti plays guitar and serves up some
warm vocals. Louise flies on the fiddle and adds her alto voice
to the mix. To quote their web site their music
Sounds like Bonnie Raitt meets Natalie McMaster, with a
smidge of Lena Horne and Stephane Grapelli. Read more and

SEPTEMBER 24 : Council meeting at Marvs.

OCTOBER
OCTOBER 11: Curtis Teague & Loretta Simonet at the Town Hall.
The husband and wife duos harmonies and proficiency on
their menagerie of instruments come together in their
perfect storm of song selections. From traditional
folk tunes given new life to brilliant originals to surprising
comic songs, Curtis and Loretta shine. Their latest collection of
favorite instruments includes Celtic harp (Lorettas
passion), mandocello, mandolin, guitars, clawhammer banjo, and
ukulele (go, Curtis, go!). Dont miss this one. Read and

OCTOBER 22: Council meeting at Daves.

In case of rain, concerts scheduled in the park will be moved to
the Town Hall.
Concerts are held the 2nd Saturday of the month, starting at 7:00
P.M. unless otherwise noted ; you are invited to attend the
potluck dinner one hour preceding the March, April, May, June,
August, September, and October concerts. Please bring your own
drinks and table settings to the potlucks in the park. Unless
noted, all concerts are $6.00 donation for adults; children under
12 free. Shar-a-Songs are now a very fine memory, thanks Pat,
Dave, and Guy for all those evenings of fine music. We are
cutting down on styrofoam so please bring your own coffee mugs to
the potlucks. Summer concerts are presented at the Mount Morris
Town Park. All others are at the Mount Morris Town Hall, Highway
152, Mount Morris
