Become a Performance Co-Sponsor to Support Black Hawk Folk Society

In a recent Black Hawk newsletter, our treasurer explained that rising costs and reduced funding are seriously limiting our ability to bring quality folk music to Mt. Morris. To address our financial needs last season, we obtained grants from two local businesses, a service club, and a charitable foundation, who were our Season Sponsors of the 2008 Folk Festival and the other 11 monthly concerts during the year. This year we will again be seeking the same kind of support from various community organizations.

We thank you for your past membership and for your past financial support. But we need more help! Therefore, we are now offering you an additional way to support us by becoming a Performance Co-Sponsor. For a tax-deductible donation of $100, you may co-sponsor a monthly concert or an individual performer at the annual folk festival. Unless you choose to remain anonymous, your co-sponsorship will be mentioned in our pre-show advertising and announced at the performance you elect to co-sponsor.

We are always glad to hear your requests and suggestions for performers, but as always we can't guarantee that we'll be able to book them. And, once booked, we can’t guarantee that you will be the sole co-sponsor. Therefore, if more than one co-sponsor steps forward, you will have the option to select another performance to co-sponsor. Your generosity will be appreciated at any time during the year!

Again, thank you for supporting the Black Hawk Folk Society. We continue to operate as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with an all-volunteer staff. As we move toward our 23rd annual Black Hawk Folk Festival in July, we think we still have a pretty neat thing going—and we hope you agree!
