Notice of Dissolution December 2014
The Fox Cities Online Board of Directors and members present at the Annual Meeting held on December 4, 2014 voted to approve the Dissolution Proposal that had been posted on the website and sent to members prior to the meeting. Hosted organizations will be allowed to stay on the server until March 31, 2015. Any members who would like advice or suggestions about alternatives to FOCOL for a web presence are welcome to contact the Executive Director with their request.
The entries that follow are historical only as of March 31, 2015. The FOCOL website is now maintained by the Appleton Public Library. Hosting is only available to a few local history sites. Contact , the Fox Cities Online Executive Director, at APL for additional information.

Fox Cities Online also provides web hosting service for non-profits and other organizations in the Fox Cities which might not otherwise be able to have a website.

How did Fox Cities Online begin?
During 1993 and 1994 a small group of area educators, librarians, business people, and computer enthusiasts got together to discuss community information networks and Internet access. They adopted bylaws and elected a board of directors in the fall of 1994. Fox Cities Online reached full operational status in March, 1997. It continually adds links to other community websites.

Is Fox Cities Online part of any other organization or group?
No. Although some organizations have supported Fox Cities Online with in-kind contributions and other support, Fox Cities Online is a separate and independent entity. At the present time, Fox Cities Online is operated by staff of the Appleton Public Library.

What are the membership levels?
Membership levels are $15.00 for students and seniors, $25 - $49 for Regular membership, $50 - $100 for Supporting or Family membership, $100 - $499 for a Sustaining membership, $500 - $1000 to be a Benefactor, and $1000 or more makes you a Guarantor.
All members are eligible for a free email account. Organizations joining at the Regular level and above may have limited storage space on the Fox Cities Online server for their website. Those joining at the Supporting level or above may request up to four email accounts.

Fox Cities Online concentrates on the area from Kaukauna to Neenah. That is the area Fox Cities Online considers its service area and the area from which Fox Cities Online recruits its information providers. I am involved with an organization that would like to place information on Fox Cities Online . How do I do this?
Contact , the Fox Cities Online Executive Director. Members at the regular level or above who have someone to be their "webmaster" can have a website hosted on the Fox Cities Online server. If you don't have anyone in your organization who can set up your website, consider requesting a "Web Brochure". Fox Cities online will set up a web brochure for any area organization whether they are a member or not. To request one, fill out the online application form.
Does Fox Cities Online have paid staff?
Barbara Kelly, the Executive Director, is employed by the Appleton Public
Library, which supports Fox Cities Online by sharing her time. The Board
and others involved in Fox Cities Online are volunteers.
How is Fox Cities Online supported financially?
Fox Cities Online is financed by a combination of the following sources -- grants, donations, in-kind donations, sponsorships, and membership dues. The Appleton Public Library provides significant in-kind support, including staff time, Internet connectivity, technical support and office space.
