What's new?

The Fox Valley Library Council invites you to a program at Scandinavia Public Library about internet use with a library perspective, presented by Waupaca County UW Extension agent Connie Abert on Friday, October 8. Topics include:

Internet safety
Internet safety tools librarians, teachers, and parents can use with children (NetSmartz www.netsmartz.org and others)
Social media
Generational contrasts in internet use
Problems of too little and too much internet use

Connie is a thoughtful speaker and is open to your questions. If you have questions or comments that you would like specifically addressed, contact coordinator Sue Vater Olsen, svater@mail.owls.lib.wi.us. Attending the presentation is 1.0 contact hours for continuing education.

Please RSVP to Sue Vater Olsen, with the following information: breakfast participation, dietary needs (if any), and any special needs by Tuesday, October 5. Changes in registration can be accommodated, however planning is much easier with your early registration.

Scandinavia Public Library is located at 349 N Main Street, Scandinavia, WI 54977. It is part of the municipal building that is a parking lot distance west of Main Street, just north of the post office. The library may be reached at (715) 467-4636.

The Fox Valley Library Council, Inc. (FVLC) was established in 1977 by the libraries of the Fox Valley. As a nonprofit corporation, the Council brings together the collections and professional expertise of school, public, academic and special libraries.

The Council plans programs and services which allow sharing of materials and information with all residents of east central Wisconsin. The council also cooperates with other regional library councils throughout Wisconsin.
