Preparing for the
Next 25 Years
Fox Valley Library Council
General Meeting
Friday, May 11, 2001 - after the business meeting
Appleton Public Library
Lower Level, Meeting Room.
The Fox Valley Library Council will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2002. Much has changed in the library world during our first 25 years. We now use high speed computers instead of telephones and teletype machines for resource sharing. Three generations of WISCAT have come and gone. Our continuing education needs were once met almost exclusively with workshops and conferences, now virtual education has been added to the mix. Email and listservs have enhanced our ability to network with one another, though certainly nothing will ever replace the pleasure of meeting with colleagues face to face for fellowship and a frank exchange of ideas.
How have our needs changed over the years? Are there some things FVLC should be doing differently to serve its members in our second quarter century? How can we shape FVLC to best meet the needs of a diverse library community?
Join your colleagues in what promises to be a spirited discussion at our annual meeting to be held in the lower level meeting room at Appleton Public Library. The discussion will be led by our Education Committee, Greta Thompson and Ken Hall. Lunch will be served when the business comes to an end. The tab will be picked up by the organization.
