Minutes of the September 24, 2008 meeting held at the Menasha Public Library
Present: Pete Gilbert, Laurie Magee, Val Magno, Judy Owen, Karen Probst, Tasha Saecker, Elizabeth Timmins
- Call to order.
Tasha Saecker called the meeting to order at 3:05.
- Additions to the agenda.
None.
- Approve minutes of the Annual Meeting, May 9, 2008.
Karen made a motion to accept the minutes. Judy seconded. The motion carried.
- Treasurer's Report
The fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. Since June 30 we have earned .96 in interest! Pete now knows how to move funds into the LGIP. He will be moving $5000 into the LGIP. Good job, Pete!
- Education Committee Report-Grant Applications
Karen Probst had a letter with her for an Education Grant. She was directed to give it to Elizabeth Eisen, the chair of the Education committee.
- Fox Cities Book Festival Update
Our very own Judy Owen is author chair for the Fox Cities Book Festival! She showed us the preliminary list of authors and WOW-it is SO exciting! Lots of great authors! Yippee!
- Directors-at-large reports:
- Pete took this portion of the meeting to resolve that FVLC commend the Menasha Public Library for being library of the year! Wonderful!
- FVLC is for networking and mutual support and cookies!
- Pete passed out the WLA newsletters received because of FVLC's membership in WLA. Our very own Karen Probst is a member of GIRT-the Government Information Round Table. Another yippee!
- Laurie mentioned how important it is to look for and retain active librarians.
- Adjourn.
Judy made a motion to adjourn and Karen seconded. The motion carried. The meeting ended at 3:45.
