Fox Valley Library Council Executive Board
Minutes of the February 17, 2009 meeting held at the Menasha Public Library

Present: Elizabeth Eisen, Val Magno, Karen Probst, Tasha Saecker, Elizabeth Timmins

  1. Call to order.
    Tasha Saecker called the meeting to order at 2:04.

  2. Additions to the agenda.
    None.

  3. Approve minutes from the September 24, 2008 meeting.
    Karen made a motion to accept the minutes. Val seconded. The motion carried.

  4. Treasurer's Report
    Pete was not here but sent his report ahead. Thanks, Pete. Tasha did not feel qualified to discuss the report.

  5. ALA Bus in June
    OWLS and Winnefox will cooperate to make this happen! Tasha will be in touch with Beth Carpenter. Thanks, Tasha. Karen made a motion that FVLC provide funding for the bus. Elizabeth Eisen seconded. The motion carried.

  6. Support for Gerald McDermott Workshop
    The workshop is closed to the public and is open to OWLS and Winnefox on Friday morning, April 17th. Gerald's artwork will simultaneously be displayed at the Bergstrom-Mahler museum. Val made a motion that FVLC provide $300 in funding for this workshop (that will come somewhere out of the "programming" portion of the budget) and Karen seconded. The motion carried.

  7. New Education Committee Chair in May
    Thanks to Elizabeth Eisen for her two years of dedicated service as the FVLC Education Committee Chair! Elizabeth has decided to step down as she becomes increasingly involved in WLA. Tasha has a lead or two for replacing Elizabeth and will pursue them! Thanks again, Tasha.

  8. Education Committee Report
    Sue Vater-Olson will be hosting the May offering/May Business meeting at the Scandinavia Public Library. It will be 5.1, 5.22, or 5.29. The speaker will be Colleen Angel and she has a range of topics that she speaks on. Val is hoping for something about customer service. :) Stay tuned for more information!

  9. Directors-at-Large Reports
    Karen said that libraries still excel in resource sharing. Amen!

  10. Adjourn
    Karen made a motion to adjourn and Tasha seconded. The motion carried. The meeting ended at 2:15. Tasha jams!
