New: Trails of the Fox Cities 2008

Fox Cities Trails Index Map - Here you will find a map of the entire Fox Cities region, with designations for trails which exist and which are planned. Some existing trails are "clickable", giving you access to futher information about the trail and often including a detailed map of the trail.

Outagamie County CE Trail - Part of the Outagamie County Parks System, this well-developed 10 foot wide blacktop trail stretches five miles from Appleton to the east side of Kaukauna.

Apple Creek Trail - On the North side of Appleton, and developed by the Appleton Parks & Recreation Department, this trail goes 4.5 miles from Highview Park past the Youth Sports Complex and almost to Holland Road.  The trail runs alongside a creek, through fields and past two large ponds -- a good trail for birdwatching.  The entire trail is now complete and paved.

WIOUWASH State Trail - Operated and maintained by the Outagamie County Parks Department, this trail runs six miles from Hortonville on the north to the Winnebago County line, joining with the segment called the Winnebago County Recreation Trail.

Winnebago County Recreation Trail -  (North portion - South portion) Maintained by Winnebago County, this trail is an extension of the WIOUWASH Trail. It extends from the Outagamie County line to a main parking lot off Westwind Road, near the junction of Highways 110 and 41.  Features include the Rat River Wildlife Area and views of Sunset Bay and several marshlands.  There are several bridges, including one high trestle.
