In Nov. 2001, the city of Menasha received state approval for a recreational trail crossing east of Konemac St. that will allow a trail to connect Jefferson Park in Menasha with the State 114 trail. It was a collaboration between the city and town of Menasha, and provides a safe ride to the Heckrodt Wetland Reserve along the north shore of Lake Winnebago. Beginning at the end of Broad St. and ending at the intersection of Highway 114 and Oneida St. In the future this trail will connect with an on street segment to the LIttle Lake Butte des Morts 'mile bridge' restle and the Town of Menasha trail system. There are opportunities for fishing in Jefferson park and the trail provides access to the city of Menasha pool. |
