It's the only one of its kind in The Fox Cities! All poets

So if you're looking for an eclectic night, 'Gourmet Organic
Poetry' at Harmony Cafe is
where it's at!"
-Ia Bolz,
host of Gourmet
Organic Poetry and
member of the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets.
Gourmet Organic
Poetry (GOP) is a unique fusion of poetry open mic and music.
It is hosted by Ia Bolz, member
of
the
Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets,
features musical trio "Moonbox". It happens every
second
Wednesday of the month from 7-9pm at Harmony Cafe.
"Gourmet
Organic Poetry" started in the spring of 2004 as Harmony Cafe's
"Poetry Slam".
In the Fall 2005, the poetry
event was revamped by Ia to fuse spoken word poetry
and cool
jazz sounds in an open mic format. Ia dubbed this
creation "Gourmet Organic Poetry".
Various musicians
have participated in the creation of GOP. Recently, 'Moonbox'
a trio of talented music students from
the Renaissance School of the Arts, were
added to the billboard.
Together, this creative team encourages musicians
and poets: young and old, amateur and professional to take the
stage.
"The blend of music and poetry
really emphasizes how
lucky The Fox Cities is to have Harmony Cafe sponsoring
Gourmet Organic Poetry"
-Ia Bolz
Ia is a local poet as well as a member of The Wisconsin
Fellowship of Poets. She was a member of "The
Spoken
Buzz Poetry Performance Troupe" in Eugene, Oregon where she
lived for 11
years before returning to her native Fox Cities in November
2001. Her poetry
has been published in numerous poetry anthologies and chapbooks. She
also was a former
co-editor of "Fox Cry Review 1981" at UW-Fox Valley. Ia is
dedicated
to being
a "cheerleader" for all the marvelous poets in The Fox
Cities!

A long time ago on a
clock tower far away, four merry minstrels gathered round to
play. They knew how
to rock and they knew how to rhyme, saving the world one jam
session at a time. Influenced by Puncs,
a great Hungarian band, they did a version of Teardrop,
secondhand. Thanks to the Renaissance and
Mr. Mike Hale they formed a band called MoonBox that would
always prevail. Through good times
and bad MoonBox was there with many different sytles of music to
share. There's Jake Anthony Crowe
on acoustic guitar, whose talents and songwriting are known near
and far. Maxwell S. Jones,
the hairy blues man, rocks the electric like a joyful old man.
Benjamin Perez brings his
soulful drum sounds (Watch out he smells, they got him in the lost and
found.) Carolyn Armstrong
with her cello in hand is there because they wanted a girl in
the band.
MoonBox has been together now for a year and a half, playing
good music and having some laughs.
They've played many venues and sung many a song, but Harmony
Cafe is where they belong.
So pass round the moon box and leave some fan mail, we love you
all very much, and our CDs are for sale!!!!!
