My name is
Renee Ladewig-Lathrop. I am one of the Program
Coordinators at Harmony Cafe.
I am an Appleton native. I graduated from Xavier
High School and then went on to receive my
major in Anthropology and a certificate in
Environmental Studies from the
University of
Wisconsin-Madison.
I came back to
Appleton in 1996 where I married the love of my
life and best friend, Shane.
We now have two beautiful, yet high energy, boys
Griffin & Oliver.
I have worked
for several non-profits in Appleton. I had
several positions at Youth Services
and then moved to a Program Coordinator at the
Boys & Girls Club (previously Youth Services).
I left the B&GCFV after the birth of my first
son in 1999, to do the most important job in
the world,
to be a stay at home Mom.
I came back to
work, in 2002, at Harmony Cafe. I have been with
the Cafe ever since and I love it.
It exemplifies everything that I stand for and
believe in. The work is challenging yet
gratifying. It let's
me be creative and encourages me to think
outside of the box. Everyday, I feel that I am
making a
difference in our community and making the world
a better place for my children. By my working at
the Cafe, my children are exposed to the
diversity, in the largest sense of the word, in
our community.
I am thankful to Harmony Cafe & Goodwill
Industries for giving me such an amazing
opportunity.
