Parent Child Playgroup

Program Details

The Parent Child Playgroup is held within the cafe of Harmony Café.  Each week parents
gather to socialize and provide support to each other while their children are
given opportunities to participate in activities such as art projects, dance, games,
storytelling, etc. As with all Harmony Café programs, there is no cost for this program.

This program is open to all children and is very welcoming of children with disabilities.
Some parents and children come every week, others come once a year.
No reservations or sign-up is needed – just show up and enjoy!

Here is what one parent had to say about the Parent-Child Playgroup:

Our Family’s experience in the Parent-Child Playgroup has been so positive. My 3-year old looks
forward to visiting all her friends and participating in the thematic lessons and activities the
instructor plans for the week. She has learned patience, cooperation and has developed good
social skills. I believe this is because of the diversity and connectiveness that Harmony Café and
Arc Fox Cities fosters. A major plus is that the parents benefit from being able to talk to other
parents and relax at the same time. I am grateful and fortunate to have such a group
supported by giving organizations.

Donations Needed
Art supplies for young children.

Volunteer Opportunities
Help children do art projects and play games, read stories, play computer games, etc.

Advisory Committee

The parents who show up serve as the “unofficial” Advisory Committee each week.
