From Headlines to History
125 years of major news headlines and how
they made it into the history books
Opening at Hearthstone Museum on February 2 and
running through June 19.
The exhibit will look at several major news stories over
the last 125 years such as the fall of the Berlin Wall,
the invention of the polio vaccine and the terrorist attacks
on September 11th. The exhibit will discuss what made these
headlines such big stories and will examine the coverage in
the newspaper before it became facts in a history book.
The exhibit will include several interactive elements such
as video and audio displays. In addition, the exhibit will
take a look at the newspapers in Appleton and how they have
changed over the last 125 years.
There is minimal
parking at Hearthstone please park on State Street if the
lot is full.
