Search FOCOL: How to Link to Fox Cities Online

We encourage any organization or individual to link to Fox Cities Online from their websites. Websites hosted by Fox Cities Online are required to display our logo and link back. If you decide to do so, here are some pointers.

General Information

Our URL is http://www.focol.org/

You may feel free to include a copy of our page logo with your link if you wish.

You can copy the logo from the top of this page by right-clicking on the image and then choosing "Save Picture as" from the menu that appears.

You can also link directly to our copy of the logo by using coding such as the following:

Your Link will look like this:

This coding will display a copy of our logo without you having to store it on your own site, and if we change our logo you will always be displaying the current version. We would prefer that you use this option.

Adding FOCOL Search Tools to your Site

Another possibility is to add a Fox Cities Online search to your own website like this:

FOCOL Active Desktop

We have also created an Active Desktop page that you can use if you would like to have Fox Cities Online always available on your desktop. This option will work for users of MS Windows. These instructions are for Windows XP, and may vary slightly for other versions of Windows. It works best if your computer is always connected to the Internet. We have been told that this page also makes a good link to the FOCOL directory from PDA devices.

Right-click anywhere on your desktop

Choose "Properties"- "Desktop"- "Customize Desktop"- "Web"

Make a new desktop item. Use this URL: http://www.focol.org/FOCOLdesktop.html

Make sure that "Lock Desktop items" is unchecked

You should see the page on your desktop, where you can resize it and move it to the location you prefer. On my desktop it looks like this:
