Annual Hardship to Hope Campaign
The focus of this year’s Hardship to Hope Campaign is direct client assistance. The need for our services could exceed the 2011 budgeted projections. The annual mailing is being sent to our wonderful and generous donors, which include our church and business partners, as well as many individuals who have supported LEAVEN in the past. If you have friends and family who should be included in our mailings, please email us at leaven@new.rr.com so we can spread the word about the help we offer the community.
Our clients say: “Thank you for your time and effort. I am very grateful and humbled by this organization. A special thank you to the caseworkers who were compassionate in helping me in my bump in the road. I hope to be on my feet very soon but it is comforting to know there is help, and special people willing to help.”
Annual Meeting
Mark your calendars! February 29, 2012 is LEAVEN’s 25th annual meeting. We invite you to join us as we celebrate 25 years serving the community - service that would not have been possible without you! The luncheon and meeting will be held from 11:30 - 1:00. More details will be posted on our website as the date draws near.

Human Race Fundraiser
This year’s Human Race theme “A prescription for Emergency Financial Assistance” was exemplified with a flashing emergency light and doctor scrubs to kick off the three mile walk/run. The race was organized by the Volunteer Center to raise money for local non-profit organizations.
Over 25 local parishes sent walkers to support LEAVEN for the event held on May 14. More than 30 parish representatives and LEAVEN volunteers braved the weather. As the weather was cold and rainy the doctor scrubs didn’t fit over our parkas, but many still braved the walk and many others supported through financial contributions.
In June we learned that it is now official. By raising more than $30,000 LEAVEN “won” the race! We want to thank everyone, donors and walkers, who helped make this such a successful event.
