Individual Giving
LEAVEN is like an emergency room for financial crises, and is the band-aid that stops the bleeding until other help can be arranged. Please consider helping our emergency room with a financial contribution. Last year 26% of all contributions came from over 1500 individual donors, including employee matching grants.
How do your dollars help? When clients request assistance from LEAVEN, they are interviewed and their needs are determined. Case workers verify their needs and use their knowledge of community resources to find the most appropriate referrals. Based on their need, emergency assistance (typically for housing, utilities or transportation) will be provided. Vouchers or direct payments to vendors are provided as appropriate; the client is never given cash.
