If you are interested in observing one or more of these programs in session, please call us at 920-991-9440 and we will try to schedule a visit.

Basic Literacy Program Offerings

Adult Basic Literacy: Tutors in this program work with English-speaking adults who want to improve their reading and/or writing skills. A number of these students have learning disabilities such as dyslexia or attention deficit disorder. Tutors and students meet at times and public meeting places convenient for both. Meetings are typically held once per week for an hour to an hour-and-a-half.

English as a Second Language (ESL) Program

One-on-one Tutoring: Tutors in this program work with adults for whom English is a foreign language. Tutors are not required to know a foreign language. Tutors can choose to work with students with varying degrees of English ability. Beginning students know little or no English whereas more advanced students need assistance with conversation skills, grammar or attaining a GED or passing the TOEFL exam. Tutors and students typically meet once or twice a week for one to two hours at a time and location convenient for both.
