Makaroff Youth Ballet (MYB) is the only non-profit youth ballet company serving the people of the Fox Valley and surrounding communities. Our mission is “Making the fine art of ballet performance accessible to the community through its talented young dancers”.

We are proud to continue the legacy of excellence in ballet that was started by Nikolai and Juanita Makaroff in 1960. Today, their daughter, Jeanette Makaroff, continues her family's rich legacy as our Artistic Director.

Makaroff Youth Ballet is comprised of talented and dedicated young dancers from the Fox Valley and surrounding communities, such as Wrightstown, Green Bay, Kaukauna, Little Chute, Appleton, Menasha, Neenah, Oshkosh, Waupaca, and New London. Our focus is on providing our dancers with superior ballet training and pre-professional performance experience. And by doing so, we also provide the public with the wonderful opportunity to see our highly talented youth in performance.

MYB is made up of 20-30 dancers ranging in age from 12 – 18 years old. We present two major performances each season, showcasing original choreography by Jeanette Makaroff.

The Makaroff family legacy is rich and deeply rooted in ballet excellence as well as the unexpected, including Vince Lombardi, Bob Hope, and Pope John, XXIII. Read more about this fascinating family in “The Makaroff Legacy” section of this website.

Makaroff Youth Ballet is especially proud to have the only Artistic Director in the area that had authentic, classical conservatory ballet training as well as an authentic professional ballet performance career.
