Out-of-School Time Partnership Out-of-School Time Partnership is funded through a grant from the Basic Needs Giving Partnership supported by the U.S. Oil Open Fund for Basic Needs within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, and the J.J. Keller Foundation, Inc. In Appleton, the YMCA, The Boys & Girls Clubs and the Appleton Area School District have worked for several years to provide afterschool programs to a growing number of high-need children and youth. This effort has stemmed from the growing evidence that supports the importance of these activities as well as from the growing need in our community. Beginning in the fall of 2008 these efforts significantly expanded in several higher need schools and collectively over 1,000 children each day are involved in 12 identified sites. However, key issues of access, sustainability, and quality service provision remain. This initiative is designed to forge a stronger, more thoughtful and comprehensive collaborative that will affect marked improvement in each of these areas.
