Positive Voice to Host a Free Two-Day GLBT Conference Featuring Scott Fearing from OutFront Minnesota

From gay marriage to Queer Eye for the Straight guy, it sometimes seems that the world has gone GLBT crazy. All gay all day. If that is so, then why are people still living in the closet? Why are people are afraid to come out at work? Why do people shy away from discussions of GLBT issues?

Liberty Hall in Kimberly will be the site of a free two-day conference on Friday, February 25th and Saturday, February 26th. The keynote speaker for both days will be Scott Fearing, a Senior Director with OutFront Minnesota. Scott spoke at the Positive Voice Day of Self-Discovery 6 years ago and we are pleased to have him come back to speak on new issues affecting the GLBT community.

The Friday night session has been planned for those individuals in leadership roles in GLBT and other diversity focused community organizations. Hors d'ouerves will be served at 6:00 pm and the program will run from 6:30 to 9:00pm.

The Saturday session will be more general in nature and deal with coming out issues. This session is open to the public. There will be a complimentary continental breakfast at 8:00am and the program will begin at 8:30am. We will break for a complimentary lunch at 11:30am and then reconvene around 12:00 noon and conclude at 1:30pm

Although there will be no charge for either session, pre-registration will be requested to assure seating and appropriate facility accommodations. Funding for this program has been made possible by a grant from the Community Foundation For The Fox Valley Region, Inc. The Community Foundation generously gave Positive Voice $2,000 from their Opportunity Fund to cover all of the speaker costs for the two day program.
