Reach Counseling offers public education programs to various
groups in Winnebago County. These groups include area service organizations,
public and parochial school students and staff, child care center students
and staff, youth program participants and social service agency personnel.
Some of the topics covered are child sexual abuse including reporting, signs
and symptoms, appropriate response, and prevention education; sexual assault,
date rape, healthy relationships, anger management, sexuality, and sexual
harassment.
Reach offers education based on its belief that with abusive behavior, as
with any social problem, one of the best ways to deal with it is to prevent
it.
Our prevention education programs have the following goals:
- To assist in prevention of abuse, neglect and violence in the community
- To help create environments which support families and communities and help
them to meet their responsibilities to care for and protect children
- To teach children and others how to form positive relationships and to develop
emotional care and personal safety skills
- To create attitudes and behaviors that nurture and support children
If you have questions, or would like to schedule a presentation,
please contact the education program coordinator, Katie Weiss, at 920-426-1460.
