About Unity
Prayer and Silent Unity · Unity.FM Links to Other Unity Churches · Unity Statement for Peace What is Unity?Unity is a unique community of like-minded souls whose focus is on the growth and development of their individual divine nature and purpose. Founded in 1889 in Kansas City, Missouri by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, Unity focuses on a practical approach to one's spirituality and living based on the eternal truth found in the teachings of Jesus Christ. The foundation of Unity is the practice of prayer, meditation, and positive thinking, leading toward a transformation of one's life as one discovers the Christ in oneself and in every other person. Every person can learn and apply the truths found in Unity in their own way.TOP of page

Prayer is the heart and soul of Unity. Prayer provides the means for connecting us with the presence of God and expanding and transforming our minds, thus changing us.Operating 24 hours each day of the year, Silent Unity is one of the oldest prayer ministries in the United States and annually receives millions of requests for prayer. You may submit a prayer request directly via the Internet, by placing a prayer request form in the prayer box at church, or by telephone at 816-969-2000. Silent Unity prays on all requests for 30 days. There is never a charge for this service, and it is always provided in strictest confidence. Silent Unity does not counsel or give advice, but rather joins callers in turning to God for counsel.
