Report from the Board of Trustees
Unity Church of Christianity
Appleton, Wisconsin
Report Archive
January 2004
Greetings!
The months of November and December always go by so quickly for me. I think they tend to speed by because for many years now these two months have been the time of year I spend looking backward so I can go forward. You see this is the time of year as many of you know, when most organizations are finalizing budgets (at Unity Church of Christianity we like to call budgets…. Intentions) for the upcoming year……not much fun unless you like doing it; it just happens that I enjoy it…..that is probably why it flies by so quickly for me. I have come to realize that in life there is a place that I am to fill and no one else can fill it; something I am to do; which no one else can do……thank you, God.
The Stewardship Team and the Board of Trustees have been working diligently with the Team leaders of our Unity community to set intentions for 2004. I am pleased to say that we are a growing, healthy, vibrant organization that continues to empower itself to manifest poise and nonresistance. At the end of January we will be submitting our intentions for 2004 at our Annual Meeting. This is a very exciting time for our community and I affirm we are appropriately challenging ourselves for growth. We had a great year of success and prosperity; we are anxious to set our intentions for the upcoming year and manifest all the good that God gives us.
At the start of the New Year, we transition our Board of Trustees with new faces. Many of you are aware of the nomination process that is happening. Our Nomination Team has done an outstanding job this year in terms of process implementation and communication. I especially enjoyed the Town Meeting where the team gave a complete update and asked for the Unity community to speak out about its needs and desires related to the nomination process as well as putting forth a call to action. Now is the time for all to search deeply within and ask; “Am I willing to share my special gifts? Is it time for me to fill a space that no one else can fill? Can I do something that no one else can do?”
At the beginning of 2004, we will have a Board retreat. The purpose of this retreat is to allow the new and existing members of the Board to get to know each other, build trust, develop relationships and set expectations. We also utilize this time to set priorities, elect officers, and of course - pray. It is an exciting event and I look forward to the growth process that this always holds for me personally as well as the group; I can’t wait!!
In closing, I would like to tell you that I am thankful to all of the individuals that have contributed to our community this past year. Wonderful people make up these teams and committees. These folks have worked very hard for our Church community this year and continue to amaze me with the pure love in which they give of their time, treasure and talents..…..they too have come to realize that …they have a place that they are to fill and no one else can fill it; something they are to do; which no one else can do…thank you God!
