Happy Spring!
Dear Ones:
By the time you read this newsletter spring will be here in our experience, not just in name. We have had the opportunity to celebrate the Easter message of totally trusting God and overcoming of our judgments of our experiences. We have also been blessed by joining together in consciousness on April 18th as the next steps for our community begin to emerge under the guidance of God.
Recently, I have observed myself slipping into judgment in some curious and humorous ways. Some of you know that I have the joyous experience of running with the eagles along the Fox River. My eagle, named by one of our congregants, is affectionately known as Sam. Sam has a partner, who I have named Samette. The pair has been preparing for nesting and new birth, and I have observed the process with much joy and anticipation. One day, I noticed that both eagles had left the nest. I went into judgment mode. What are they doing, those irresponsible parents! Maybe the eggs will freeze. If the eaglets had been born they will be in danger. I did all of this without having any knowledge of eagle nesting practices. I then had a good laugh at myself as the self-proclaimed bird expert. Sometimes we slip into judgment about our children, co-workers, boss etc. without knowing much about the circumstances. Would it be easier and less stressful to just observe what is?
Spring is the time of rebirth. Why not nurture our developing souls and the souls of our children, grandchildren, and all children we interact with. As parents and grandparents we have a wonderful opportunity to constantly remind the children in our lives that they are good enough just the way they are. Nothing can take away from their value and dignity. They have a right to be happy. We can have a major impact upon the consciousness of this planet. One way is to love and support young ones as they are forming their self-concepts. This love and support will impact generations to come.
So this spring I invite you to soar above the consciousness of judgment and follow the thermals of your heart-for your nature is to love and nurture young and old alike.
Blessings,
Reverend Morgan
