Minister's Message

July 2004

Dear Friends:

We affirm that these summer months will bring relaxation, joy, and time with family and friends. Cynthia and I are looking forward to our first Wisconsin summer! We will be trying something different this summer at church. For those of you who travel on weekends, we invite you to a Wednesday midweek service at 7 PM. The service will have a new flavor with guitars, handdrums, and upbeat music. For those who want to celebrate service in song ,we will begin at 6:50 singing popular songs.

Other activities for this summer will include the beginning activities of our Home Of Our Own Ministries. The primary focus for the summer will be the creation of an expanded prayer consciousness and further refinement of our April 2004 visioning process. All of us can start now holding in prayer and meditation the emergence of the new right and perfect next home for us. We will continue to report progress and answer questions via our town meetings, newsletters, announcements and other forums. Please attend our next town meeting on July 11th for more information. There is also a brief question and answer piece on the next page.

On a personal note, Cynthia and I want to thank you for participating in my installation on June 20th. It was a great celebration and the time has flown by as we have been with you now for nine months. The informal activity in the park made for a relaxing day. We ate well, played hard and got to see the teenage eaglets. As you read this newsletter, we will be planning fall activities. For those who missed the affirmative prayer and meditation class, we are considering running a one-day intensive experience. We anticipate several activities to feed your body, mind, and soul this fall. A class for couples who want to improve their relationships by learning some new communication skills and a yoga class to stretch the body are just a couple of activities in the planning!
