2004: A Year in Review
by Rev. Morgan Barclay and the Board of Trustees

This first full year of my ministry in Appleton was a year of establishing relationships with the congregation and developing church leadership. We have accomplished much together! Here are some of the highlights.....

Ministers’ 2004: A Year in Review

• Added special services, including: Whitestone, New Years’ Eve World Peace, and Wednesday evening services during the Summer months.
• Continued Morgan’s A-Musings weekly e-mail follow-up to Sunday services.
• Continued to improve the flow of service with support from our Music and Worship Ministries.
• Updated worship technology.
• Offered multiple classes, some taught by church teams or members, and workshop by John Maxwell Taylor.
• Purchased and adopted new youth education curriculum.
• Expanded our teaching staff.
• Mentored and coached leaders and emerging leaders in our community.
• Facilitated the creation of the three Home of our Own (HOOO) Ministries.
• Appointed to the Association of Unity Churches Budget and Finance/Pension Ministries.
• Organized our church visioning activity, led by Rev. Barbara Howard.
• Organized church survey based on the Association Unity Churches model.
• Met with all our ministry teams, attended regular team meetings for worship, stewardship, Board, and HOOO.
• Completed implementation of standard accounting practices with new membership and accounting software.

Board of Trustees’ 2004: A Year in Review

• Supported the concept and implementation of a visioning process.
• Participated in Board Retreat.
• Decided upon three focus areas for 2004: Worship Ministry, Prayer Ministry, and Youth Education.
• Continued the process of open communication through town meetings, informal and formal surveys.
• Approved the expenditure to hire a nursery attendant.
• Evaluated data collected in congregational survey from the Association.
• Supported and participated in the installation of Rev. Morgan J. Barclay as our minister in June.
• Supported the expenditure for new youth and adult curriculum.
• Approved and supported the creation of three HOOO Ministries
• Approved intentions (budget) for 2005.
