Dear Friends,

April and I just returned from attending the Great Lakes Unity Regional Conference a few weeks ago. It was an inspiring and educational week. Many of you may not be aware that you are a part of an international movement that is creating a consciousness of healing and world peace. The Great Lakes Unity Regional Conference is made up of a fellowship of several hundred churches in the mid-west. There are several paid staff that provide teacher educational support. At our fingertips are specialists willing to help us at any time to plan and educate teachers and youth leaders. The region also provides continuing education for ministers and licensed Unity teachers.

We are also part of the Association of Unity Churches International. Over 1,000 churches worldwide are served by our Association. What is most exciting is that James Trapp, a dynamic and powerful visionary, has just been appointed the new CEO, effective November 1st. He brings a strong vision to create change not only in our own lives, but for the life of our planet as well. The Association provides many services for local churches around the world. Some examples of services are as simple as providing bulletin covers and other services are complex, such as supporting minister placement.

The third organization we work with is called Unity (formerly Unity School of Christianity). This is the heart and soul of the movement founded by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore. I see each of you who desires to, attending a retreat or classes at Unity Village as part of your spiritual journey. On this beautiful 1200+ acre campus is located the ministerial education program, Silent Unity, and a publishing unit that produces Daily Word and many other publications. Unity’s continuing education courses and retreats are a part of this ministry. About four years ago, Tom Zender assumed the leadership of Unity and the organization has undergone transformation and continues to do so.

Right now we have three vital Unity organizations undergoing great changes that will allow our Unity message to be shared worldwide. We are also in the time of change as we continue to hold our vision of serving hundreds of people in the Fox Valley and at the same time meeting the needs of our current community. Is this change process easy? Not always. But we are called to do greater good. The outer world is experiencing some chaos with war, economic fears, and the tendency to quickly judge and label in small sound bites rather than turning within. We have a great message to share. We all are unique expressions of God, with unlimited potential for happiness, health, and success as we co-create with Spirit. We can change our thinking and change our lives! So invite us all to turn from the world of effect to the world of first cause — God the Good. This is a most exciting time for you to be part of the Unity movement! Participate and grow. We give thanks that we are part of the energetic Unity movement. We are the people and the message that the world is waiting for!

Blessings,

Reverend Morgan
