Homecoming

Homecomings are a very special time of year. We have our homecoming each fall at Unity. Many people return from their summer time at the cabins up “North” and rejoin our Sunday services on a more regular basis. This is a wonderful time to reconnect with old friends and make new friends. It is fun hearing people make plans to go out for lunch after church to catch up and share. If you have never done that, I invite you to do that this September.

Some events just seem to always draw people and have become our Unity traditions. This year once again we will have our campfire at the Cousineau Farm. I will always remember the warm welcome Cynthia and I experienced at this event which was held only a few days after we arrived in Appleton. This year we have expanded the evening and will have supper on the grill. Bring your musical instruments and games!

Speaking of games, we will have an inter-generational game night on September 14th. Join with us as the adults will play kids games again. When is the last time you played Candyland?

This is another gift to connect with folks from all generations.

This fall Bethany Gee-Lindblad will be leading our young teens. We look forward to more interaction with our young people as they plan to make connection with other Uniteens around the state.

We will of course have our special events, maybe a workshop or two, and a special concert by nationally known artist Jana Stanfield; another opportunity to connect with one another in song.

So as you begin your fall schedule, enjoy the gift of connection and reconnection with Unity friends. Also take time to connect with Spirit on a regular basis. That is the biggest gift you can give yourself. You are the Christ, the son/daughter of the living God. Expand that spark of Divinity into a focused flame by prayer, meditation, and fellowship with people of like minds through worship, classes, and sacred silent time in our World Day of Prayer Vigil on September 13th.

Blessings,

Reverend Morgan
