The More Things Change...
Change is afoot, in the election (one way or another), in our country's financial life, in the redesign project for our church sanctuary, and in our personal lives. Even in my upcoming class on Spiritual Reunion Meditation starting November 11, we'll cultivate personal changes to develop a closer relationship with Spirit.
In fact, there's so much change going on, it's worth thinking about the one thing that doesn't change.
No matter what else may be going on, Spirit's role in our lives doesn't change. As the first Unity principle says, "There is one presence and one power in my life, God the good." Spirit always leads us toward itself, towards the good. I find that a vastly reassuring thought.
As I go through my daily life with its inevitable ups and downs, my inner spiritual compass always points in one direction. When I can set aside my distractions and follow Spirit in my life, I let the power of good infuse my thoughts, feelings and actions. Things go better, within me and around me.
We do that as a church, as well. When we set aside our human distractions, our church moves inevitably toward God's good. That makes a difference in how we serve each other, how we laugh together and celebrate together, and how we touch each other's lives.
In the midst of change, let's be confident of the unchanging certainly of God's good!
Love and light,
