There are many opportunities and many different ways to volunteer and make a difference in the church and in the community.


Board of Trustees
Responsible for the operation and well-being of the church, including hiring the minister, establishing the budget, administering church property, and overseeing the activities of the various church ministry teams. The Board is comprised of the minister, 6 elected members serving 3-year terms, and up to 2 elected alternates serving 1 year terms. The Board generally meets monthly. Information about the responsibilities and activities of the Board may be found in Article 4 of our By-Laws.

Ministry Teams
The church operates based on the efforts of a number of ministry teams. Ministry teams for any specific purpose will be appointed by the President of the Board or the minister. Contact information for Ministry Team Chairs may be found on the Church Staff page.

Education
Youth and adult education.

Fellowship & Community Service/Worship
Help with fellowship activities, whether it is organizing an event, or helping to make coffee on Sundays. Contribute to the conduct of the worship service, planning of workshops and speakers.

Home Of Our Own
Three ministry teams address the future home for Unity Church of Christianity: Prayer & Visioning, Facilities, and Expansion of Prosperity Consciousness.

Prayer Ministry
Provide local prayer support for members of the Unity Church of Christianity community. All prayer requests are handled with absolute confidentiality. Team members pray daily for a number of assigned requests. An orientation and training is required to become a member of the prayer team.

Public Relations
Help get the word out about the church.

Stewardship
Team-approach to the accounting, handling, and allocation of church funds provides continuity and the benefit of insights from several minds and hearts. The Team is comprised of the Minister, the church's bookkeeper, our accountant, the Treasurer of the Board of Trustees, the Board President, another Board member, and other(s) as requested by the Board.

Church Operations
In addition, the church has several operations requiring volunteer support:

Library
The church maintains a library of books, cassette tapes of church services, and other spiritual materials that may be borrowed by members of the church community.

Refreshments
Coffee and cookies are made available after the service each Sunday.

Audio Taping
The meditation and lesson is taped each Sunday and copies are made for the Library and for sale.
