The 2006 54th Assembly District Race

http://www.hintzforassembly.com

Dear Friend,

Last weekend, Democrats throughout Wisconsin came to Oshkosh for the annual Wisconsin Democratic State Convention. The Hintz for Assembly campaign joined Governor Doyle, Lt. Governor Lawton, Attorney General Lautenschlager, U.S. Senator Kohl, U.S. Senator Feingold, and many other state leaders and activists in standing up and fighting for fiscal responsibility, corporate accountability, tax fairness, privacy, growth and opportunity, and above all - real leadership.

The convention received good coverage ("Democrats hope to get back Madison muscle"- http://www.wisinfo.com/northwestern/news/local/stories/local_21369857.shtml ) and our close race in 2004 has assured that our campaign ("Hintz hasn’t halted") in the 54th Assembly District will be one of the main battlegrounds in 2006.

I will be updating my website and communicating with supporters on a regular basis to keep you informed on the battles taking place in Wisconsin and how you can help the Hintz for Assembly ’06 campaign over the next eighteen months. I would like to personally invite you to a few of our upcoming events Fourth of July weekend.

  • Hintz for Assembly ’06 Fireworks Cookout- Please join me July 3 starting at 5:30pm at 559 Hazel Street for a cookout, drinks, and fireworks in Menomonee Park that evening. If you are planning on going to Menomonee Park for the fireworks, be sure to stop by. Contributions welcome.
  • Winnebago County Democratic Party Sawdust Daze Table July 2 and 3rd– Hintz for Assembly ’06 Campaign and other Democratic candidates and issue information will be available. If you are attending Sawdust Daze, be sure to look for us.
  • Winnebago County Democratic Party participates in the Fourth of July Parade – July 4th 9am, Main Street and Irving Avenue - Oshkosh. Come watch (or join!) the parade and look for the Hintz for Assembly Van and fellow County Dems as they march in this year’s parade titled "Supporting the American Worker".

While more than a year away, it is crucial to the success of our campaign to have the resources necessary to battle to battle the right-wing leadership in the Assembly who voted yesterday to prohibit the prescribing, dispensing and advertising of birth control on University property and who recently voted to allow pharmacists the right to refuse filling prescriptions, doctors and nurses to refuse to honor 'living wills', and allow personal religious beliefs to trump patients' rights.

I am asking for your support today – to say "No" to Representative Underheim and the extremists in the Wisconsin legislature

June 30 is the end of this fundraising quarter. By starting to raise money, we will be sending a signal to Rep. Underheim and the Republicans that we are determined to take back this Assembly seat. Please consider making a contribution today. $500, $250, $100, $75, $25, $10, - whatever you can afford.

If you are committed to returning a Democratic to the 54th Assembly District, please send a check payable to Hintz for Assembly, to P.O. Box 1424, Oshkosh, WI 54903, or you can make a secure donation on my website:

http://www.hintzforassembly.com/contribute.html.

If you have any questions or comments, please send me and email or call.

Thank you-
Gordon
