Brian Lydeen
Brian Lydeen is Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Bands and Jazz Studies at Marian University in Fond du Lac, WI. Mr. Lydeen is an experienced clinician, guest artist, and woodwind and jazz soloist. In addition to playing bass clarinet in the Wisconsin Symphonic Winds, he also performs regularly with several area groups, including directing Fond du Lac's Lighthouse Big Band. He has performed with and for Aaron Neville, Bob Newhart, David "Fathead" Newman, Tom "Bones" Malone, Johnny Mathis, and Wayne Newton. Currently, Mr. Lydeen is completing his doctoral degree in saxophone performance at the University of Wisconsin Madison. He hold degrees in Music Education and Saxophone Performance from the University of Mary and the University of Northern Colorado, respectively, and has done post-graduate work at the University of North Texas. His principle teachers include Loran Eckroth, Eric Nestler, Jim Riggs, Roger Greenburg, and Les Thimming.
