Clarinet Soloist - Diana Tolmie
Diana Tolmie has performed for the past 20 years professionally in a variety of styles from early classical to jazz/rock including modern contemporary music on clarinets, saxophones and flutes. Diana is a graduate and post-graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium, Brisbane, Australia. To date she has led a varied musical career instigated by a Churchill Fellowship; Queen Elizabeth Trust Scholarship; and the Dulcie Robertson prize for highest woodwind results at the Conservatorium.
Sessional work includes 20 years of performing with The Queensland Symphony, Philharmonic and Pops Orchestras, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, Opera Queensland; and Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, plus 15 years of professionally produced musicals touring Australian and Asia.
Diana currently lectures all single reeds in addition to Woodwind and Brass Pedagogy and MLAAM (Music Industry Skills) at the Queensland Conservatorium. Diana also operates as a consultant, editor and examiner for the Australian Music Examination Board. 2012 will see her touring and performing nationally and internationally with the Collusion Chamber Ensemble, and the Barega saxophone quartet while recording CD's with both groups.
